Love is War

Posted by Rev. Patricia Hepner on

Declare war today against your enemy, the devil. Go to war with praise! There is much power in the praise of God. Thanksgiving and praise are integral parts of prayer. When you believe you receive, then you begin to praise God for the answer. You begin to thank God that it is done for you. Praise is a very powerful weapon. Praise was ordained by God for a definite reason. "I will praise thee, Oh Lord, with my whole heart; I will show forth all thy marvelous works. I will be glad and rejoice in thee: I will sing praises to thy name, Oh thou most high. When mine enemies are turned back, they shall fall and perish at thy presence. For thou hast maintained my right and my cause; thou satest in thy throne judging right." (Psalm 9:1-4).

Read, study and meditate on Psalms 8 and 9. Jesus quoted Psalm 8:2 in Matthew 21:16: "Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise." God equates praise with strength. From these scriptures we now know that God brought praise into existence. God ordained praise! Why did God ordain praise? "Because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still thy enemy and the avenger." (Psalm 8:2). Praise will STOP the devil right in his tracks. It is our powerful weapon we are to use in calling a halt to the devil's maneuvers. Sing and say Psalm 9: "I will praise thee, Oh Lord , with my whole heart. I will show forth all of thy marvelous works. I will be glad and rejoice in thee. I will sing praises to thy name. O thou most High. When my enemies are turned back, they shall fall and perish at thy presence. For thou hast maintained my right and my cause; thou satest in the throne judging right." It says WHEN your enemies are turned back, not IF! There is no question about it.

Remember we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against the devil's forces (Ephesians 6:12). Whatever adversity is challenging you today, begin to praise God. Use this powerful vital weapon in your warfare against the devil and his forces. Your enemies have no choice but to turn back. They will fall and perish in your presence. And the peace and victory that Jesus so willingly bought for you will be yours, as "it is written." Confess "I praise the Lord with my whole heart. I show forth all His marvelous works." And I recall all that he has already done, and I remember that He is the same, yesterday, today and forever. Today, I am going to war with praise: the most powerful weapon in my arsenal."
