God’s Promises

Posted by Rev. Patricia Hepner on

"And the Lord shall make thee plenteous in goods, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land which the Lord sware unto thy fathers to give thee." " ...thou shall lend unto many nations, and thou shall not borrow." (Deuteronomy 28:11-12) Galatians chapter 3 tells us this. It tells us that everything God promised Abraham belongs to the Gentiles now through Christ Jesus. "And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise." (verse 29). Now, there is no doubt that these blessings are legally ours. "How can we get our hands on them?" We must dig into God's Word for our answers. The answer is there! To enjoy the blessings of Abraham, we must walk in the same kind of faith that Abraham did. Faith opens the door to God's promises. Now, that's good news! We must walk by faith in order to receive these blessings. That's just the way it works. God set up the system and He didn't set it up to make things difficult for us. He did it because He knew that the devil and his crew are always trying to steal our blessings. God designed this system to keep the devil and his crew from pilfering our inheritance. God's promises belong to us. They're locked up in a treasure house of Almighty God. To access them, we will have to take the time to learn the procedures. We'll have to read, study and meditate on God's Word and discover His ways. We must be willing and eager to do this. We really must not care what is going on in the world. We must make a quality decision that we are going to stick with God's Word. It will bring us out of debt, heal our bodies, it will take us through whatever the devil throws our way. We are the seed of Abraham and it worked for him and it will work for us. God is no respecter of persons, what He did for Abraham He will do for us. God is the same, yesterday, today and forever. Say each day, "The Lord makes me plenteous in goods, in the fruit of my body, and in the fruit of my cattle, and in the fruit of my ground. I lend unto many nations, but I do not borrow." Galatians chapter 3 says God's promises to Abraham belong to the Gentiles. Whatever belongs to Abraham, also belongs to us.
